the suffering of a patriotic citizen's life

His grandfather lived as a rich farmer in Wonsan, North Korea. He was a visionary enough to study abroad in the United States. He was fluent in Chinese and Chinese language and lived alone with former President Syngman Rhee when he was studying in Hawaii. He studied abroad around 1905 and returned to Korea in 1924. It is said that it also raised funds for the Independence Army, but it seems that it acted in a solemn and quiet manner. Therefore, it is said that no record of grandfather's history of independence movement can be found. He believes his grandfather may have contributed to the independence movement.

After liberation, his father watched the atrocities of the Soviet army and followed his brother to join an anti-communist organization called General Kim Sung's guard. He/she was wanted for the police raid and was assigned to the 4th Bureau of the Ministry of National Defense to work under the mission of finding anti-aircraft suspects against the people who defected to the South. When the Korean War broke out and the United Nations was established, his father joined the war as a captain of the K.L.O. Secret Service's West Sea Offshore Operations Unit, and his father was killed while serving as a captain of the K.L.O. Marine Corps GOAT. His father's criminal record remains in the U.N. soldiers.

Since he was a member of the U.N. Army, not the Korean army, after the war, he did not remain in the records of the Korean army, so he lived without being recognized for any major. Recently, the compensation law for non-regular soldiers was passed, and an average of KRW 9 million was paid to the party or the representative of the bereaved family. His father's anti-communist activities did not stop here. He left his name as a private agent who was deeply involved in Hwang Jang-yeop's asylum. A reporter from a famous media company said his father was listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the world's oldest spy. In 1997, Hwang Jang-yup, former secretary of the North's ruling Workers' Party, actually led the exile, but the ball was taken by the Ministry of Security and Planning at the time. His father died of lung cancer in April 2009. His father has never received any respect from the state, whether it is a reward or a medal. Hwang Jang-yeop was awarded the Mugunghwa Medal after his death, but his father was left with only chrysanthemum flowers after his death, Kim Jung-hoon, a reporter from Weekly Dong-A, said in an article.

Hwang Jang-yeop's father, who had been hiding for a while after his exile and even endured overseas evacuation, went through health, but it was too late when he found out about stage 4 lung cancer. His mother is currently in a nursing home with dementia and the cost is supported by his sister. He now lives worrying about his mother. He suffered a myocardial infarction more than a decade ago and a cerebral infarction more than five years ago. Now I'm taking care of myself due to my disc symptoms. He is now living in poverty, but what he wants to do is restore his father's honor.

He has not applied for any government welfare benefits so far despite the recommendations from his surroundings, who is suffering from living difficulties and is holding out with only his pride. He said he was ashamed to see his father and grandfather, so he did not apply for welfare. He said he would appreciate it if the government recognized his father's contribution and would be grateful and loyal to the nation if he could give him a national medal. He also calls for the government's consideration of non-regular military activities that were devoted to the country during the war and patriots who risked their lives for the national interest at the asylum of Hwang Jang-yeop. He's going to write his father's exploits and file a complaint with the president's office. In the past, during the Roh Moo Hyunn government, the National Human Rights Commission of Korea ruled to compensate the Ministry of National Defense, but the Ministry of National Defense ignored and said nothing. Now that the Yoon Suk Yeoln government has said it will honor patriotic soldiers and their families, I will try to believe it.
